Where is the festival held?
The festival will be located in downtown Toronto on the grounds of Garrison Common at National Historic Fort York – 100 Garrison Road, Toronto, ON Canada M5V 3K9.
Is this an all-ages event?
Yes, this festival is an all-ages event. Bring down the entire family! For those who are 19+, there will be an onsite Beverage Garden for you to imbibe. Please bring ID.
Do kids require a ticket?
Children under the age of 12 are FREE!
Are there in and out privileges?
Unfortunately there will not be any in and out privileges at this festival. Please make sure you have everything you need before having your ticket scanned at the gate.
Will the event happen rain or shine?
Yes, the event will happen no matter the weather. All vendors will be covered under frame style tents, there will be coverage for patrons to seek shelter, and an area to warm up around the campfire.
Am I able to bring my dog and/or pet?
Sadly your pets will not be able to partake in the festivities. Our liquor license prohibits us from allowing animals within our fence-line. You’ll have to tell them all the about the festival when you get home.
Will there be food options for all allergy types?
Yes, it is our goal to ensure that we have a wide range of soups from around the world that cater to a variety of allergies including gluten free, dairy free and nut free. Check out each vendor booths onsite signage for details on ingredients.
What is the size of the soup samples?
Each soup sample will be 4 oz. If you find a favourite soup, purchase 1 L of it to take home.
How much are soup and artisan goods at the festival?
Each food vendors’ goods will be listed at the pricing in which they promote. Pricing will be dictated based on ingredients of their soup; the fancier the ingredients, the more expensive the soup. A 4 oz sample will likely range between $3-5 each.
How do I pay for soup and artisan food samples?
You can purchase food vouchers from our onsite Ticket Booths located throughout the festival grounds. See site map for detailed locations. Each ticket will be valued at $1 CDN. Cash only.
Will there be ATMs onsite?
Yes, please feel free to use the ATMs onsite to take out cash to purchase any onsite goods, food tickets and beverages.
What should I wear?
Dress according to the weather. If it is going to be chilly, break out the warm jackets, hats and mitts. Should it be milder than perhaps a scarf and puffy vest will do. Wear what you will be comfortable in based on the day’s forecast.
How to arrive onsite at Garrison Common?
From Bloor Street Subway (Line 2): From Bathurst Station on Line 2, take the Bathurst 511 “Exhibition” streetcar southbound. Exit at Fleet Street and Fort York Boulevard stop. Walk north to the Visitor Centre and go up the staircase to the festival grounds.
From Union Station (Line 1): At Union Station take the 509 Harbourfront streetcar westbound towards the CNE Exhibition grounds on Fleet Street. Exit streetcar at Fleet Street and Fort York Boulevard stop. Walk north to the Visitor Centre and go up the staircase to the festival grounds.
From the north-east corner of Front St. W. and Bay St.: Take the 121 Fort York-Esplanade bus westbound towards the CNE Exhibition grounds, exit at Fort York Boulevard and Fleet street and walk north to the Visitor Centre and go up the staircase to the festival grounds.
From Eglinton West Station (63 Ossington Bus): At Eglinton West Station, board the 63 Ossington Bus Southbound. Proceed southbound to Strachan Avenue, south of King Street. Exit the bus at Strachan Avenue and East Liberty Street and walk south towards the Strachan Avenue stairs at the west end of Fort York.
From Exhibition GO Station: From Exhibition GO Station take the 509 Harbourfront OR 511 Bathurst Street streetcar and exit streetcar at Fleet Street and Fort York Boulevard stop. Walk north on the west side of Fort York Blvd to the Fort York Visitor Centre, and then go up the staircase to the festival grounds.
Cyclists are encouraged to use the bike rings located at the Visitor Centre (250 Fort York Boulevard) and on the south side of Fort York Boulevard.
From King and Bathurst: From King Street, ride south on Bathurst Street towards Lake Ontario. Cross the Bathurst (Sir Isaac Brock) Bridge and turn right onto Fort York Boulevard to the Visitor Centre.
From King and Strachan: From King Street ride south on Strachan Avenue towards the lake. Turn left at Fleet Street and follow to Fort York Boulevard. Turn left on Fort York Boulevard and ride east to the Visitor Centre.
From the Martin Goodman Trail: At Lakeshore Boulevard and Strachan Avenue exit the trail and ride north on Strachan to Fleet Street. Turn right at Fleet Street and follow to Fort York Boulevard. Turn left on Fort York Boulevard and ride north to the Visitor Centre.
From King and Bathurst: From King Street walk south on Bathurst Street towards Lake Ontario. Cross the Bathurst (Sir Isaac Brock) Bridge, turn right onto Fort York Boulevard and continue to the Visitor Centre (250 Fort York Boulevard).
From King and Strachan: From King Street walk south on Strachan Avenue towards Lake Ontario. Visitors may either take the Strachan stairs through the Garrison Common to Fort York, or continue south along Strachan Avenue to Fleet Street. Turn left on Fleet Street, left to Fort York Boulevard and then walk north to the Visitor Centre, and then go up the staircase to the festival grounds.
